Mensaje de la Red en Defensa de la Humanidad al heroico pueblo bolivariano de Venezuela

Mensaje / Message from the Network in Defense of Humanity to the Heroic Bolivarian People of Venezuela

La Red de Intelectuales, Artistas y Movimientos Sociales en Defensa de la Humanidad desea felicitar al pueblo venezolano por la lección de democracia que brindara durante la votación para la Asamblea Nacional Constituyente.
Frente al intento, por parte de la derecha nacional e internacional, de generar odio y terror para impedir, mediante el miedo, el ejercicio democrático del voto, el pueblo salió a las calles para decir no a la violencia, para decir sí a una Asamblea Nacional Constituyente como herramienta para la paz, como forma de profundizar la democracia participativa y constitucionalizar los avances que ha tenido desde 1999 con la asunción del Comandante Hugo Chávez Frías a la presidencia.
Mención aparte merece la obscena injerencia imperial (como ha reconocido la propia CIA sin el menor sonrojo) y la amplificación, incitación y legitimación, que de la violencia hacen las trasnacionales de la (des)información.
No solo reconocemos los resultados y los más de 8 millones de votos del pueblo venezolano, sino que condenamos cualquier intención, presente o futura, de desestabilizar al gobierno legítimo que encabeza Nicolás Maduro Moros, así como la propia instalación de la Asamblea Constituyente. Llamamos a los pueblos de nuestra América a repudiar con la mayor energía la complicidad de los gobiernos de derecha de la región con las graves acciones golpistas e intervencionistas de Washintgton contra Venezuela.
Nosotros y nosotras también decimos sí a la Constituyente como forma de profundizar el poder popular y la justicia social, herencia del Comandante Hugo Chávez que siempre luchó por una Venezuela y una América Latina digna y soberana.
En tal sentido, subrayamos la importancia de saber en esta hora crucial cuál es el lado correcto de la lucha de clases en Venezuela y en Latinoamérica y el Caribe; para nosotros es y será siempre enfrentar al imperialismo y defender la soberanía política, económica y territorial de Venezuela y de todos los países de Nuestra América.

The Network of Intellectuals, Artists and Social Movements in Defense of Humanity want to congratulate the Venezuelan people for the lesson in democracy they gave during the vote for the National Constituent Assembly yesterday.

Despite the attempts by the national and international right to generate hate and terror to prevent, through fear, the democratic right to vote, the people went out to the streets to say no to violence and yes to a National Constituent Assembly. They regarded this as a tool for peace - a way of strengthening participatory democracy and to constitutionalize the progress that has been achieved.

Special mention needs to be made about the obscene imperial interference in this process (as acknowledged by the CIA itself without even blushing) and the amplification, and legitimization of violence that the transnational corporations disseminated with impunity.

We not only recognize the results from the more than 8 million votes of the Venezuelan people, but we condemn any present or future intent to destabilize the legitimate Government headed by Nicolas Maduro Moros, or the installation of the Constituent Assembly. We call on the people of the Americas to repudiate the complicity of the right wing Governments in the region with the government of the United States in its pro-coup and interventionist attempts against Venezuela.

We also say yes to the Constitutional Assembly as a way to deepen people's power and social justice that the people of Venezuela inherited from Commander Hugo Chávez, who always fought for a Venezuela and Latin America more dignified and sovereign.

In this regard we stress the importance of knowing at this crucial time which is the right side of the struggle in Venezuela to be on - for us it is, and always will be, to confront imperialism and defend the political, economic and territorial sovereignty of Venezuela.
